Pal Tiya Premium is a professional cement sculpting clay designed for outdoor use. Unlike traditional clay, it does not require a kiln and cures to a strong, weatherproof finish.

This step-by-step guide will show you how to properly mix, sculpt, and cure Pal Tiya Premium to achieve the best results for outdoor sculptures, fountains, and large-scale projects.

Mixing Pal Tiya Premium cement sculpting clay

Step 1: Mixing Pal Tiya Premium

Start with approximately a 4:1 ratio of powder to water.

Add water slowly using a spray bottle while mixing. The goal is to achieve a workable consistency similar to firm clay. Avoid adding too much water at once.

A simple way to test consistency is the "tongue test" — the material should feel slightly tacky, not overly wet or crumbly.

Step 2: Working Time

Pal Tiya Premium has an average working time of about 2 hours depending on conditions.

Keep the material damp while sculpting by misting it lightly with water. This will extend your working time and prevent cracking.

Step 3: Building Your Sculpture

Apply an initial base layer approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.

Allow this layer to firm up before adding additional detail layers (typically after about one day).

For detail work, apply a thinner layer (around 1/4 inch) and sculpt as desired.

Step 4: Refining and Smoothing

As the material reaches a leather-hard stage, it can be smoothed or burnished using steel tools or trowels.

Any visible fibers can be lightly burned off or sanded once cured to achieve a smoother finish.

Step 5: Curing (Critical Step)

Proper curing is essential for strength and durability.

Keep your sculpture damp for at least 5 days by misting and covering it with plastic.

This allows the material to reach approximately 80% of its strength.

Full curing takes about 28 days, at which point the sculpture reaches maximum strength and durability.

Step 6: Finishing

Once fully cured, your sculpture can be painted, sealed, or left in its natural finish.

Pal Tiya Premium is naturally weatherproof and suitable for outdoor environments.
